Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a healing mechanism that is based on the theory that our emotions and physical symptoms are linked to each other with an underlying energy system in the body that acts as an energy center. The Chinese discovered this energy center way back In time and therefore used it as the center of their acupuncture meridian system.
However, EFT was developed by a Stanford engineer Gary Craig who worked on the basis of the theory back in 1991 and to this day, continues to develop and improve on the EFT applications. The basic understanding to EFT is simple to decipher as it sets a light to our emotional experiences and how they are interpreted by us. Gary Craig after uncovering EFT asserted the point that the cause of all negative emotion is rooted in the disruption of the body’s energy center. He also comments that having unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to physical pain and disease.
How EFT functions
Chinese alchemists and ancients Indian Ayurveda Scientists came to the conclusion that emotions particularly resentments, hurts and anger had a big role to play when it came to the development of disease in the human body. The EFT theory suggests that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the energy system of the body. This might sound odd at first but the idea is nothing new. The fact is like 5,000 years old and Albert Einstein supported this theory after discovering that everything is made up of energy.
EFT works so well the reason being that it makes the use of the secrets of Eastern healing traditions that the west has so far overlooked. Acupuncture is attracting attention and there is research being conducted to figure out how the thing works and how it works. The results of the acupuncture have been impressive but people still place it as what is termed as a placebo effect. However, what people do not know is that the method has been in use since time immemorial based on the ancient understanding of meridian energy circuitry which runs throughout all living creatures.
EFT & Acupuncture
When acupuncture takes place, the practitioner selects points carefully on the meridian system. EFT is however based on a select few of these potent points that are known to give emotional and physical relief to whomever who cares to know where they are found. EFT does not require professional knowledge, or the use of needles. These points are simply stimulated by tapping them using the fingertips.
