Anxiety

Anxiety is defined on a wide scope as negative emotions in nature. It consists of fear and worry to some while other organisms may show physical signs like nausea or chest pains. The experience is quite complex and comprises of a varying elements. The elements are cognitive and some are somatic thus the body will prepare itself to counter the external threat. The heat rate will be speeded up and blood pressure will be increased. Muscles in the body will receive elevated levels of blood and the functions of the digestive system will be slowed down.

 

A sense of dread is mostly associated with people who have anxiety. The body will experience both voluntary and involuntary processes which are aimed at taking the organism away from the anxiety trigger factors. The feeling of anxiety is crucial in that it enables or increases the survival rate of organisms. In humans, the hippocampus and amygdale regions of the brain are known to trigger anxiety. Once a person detects bad odors or tastes, an influx of blood will take place into the amygdale. In this situation, there will be medium levels of anxiety to the individual.

 

As per the study findings, anxiety is designated to protect individuals from substances that may be harmful too their well being. Despite that anxiety is normal; an individual with recurrent   experiences is known to suffer from anxiety disorder. To some people, anxiety disorders are so extreme that they leave an individual terrorized. The disorders are categorized into panic disorders, phobias, generalized anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorders. A person with phobia is more likely to have abnormal amounts of fear related to a specific situation or object. Phobia afflicted people tend to have extensive imaginations and are fully aware that there fears are quite irrational.

 

Extreme panic attacks are known to follow panic disorders and are accompanied by breathing problems and dizziness. The attacks are typically known to reach at peak in a matter of 10 minutes. A large proportion of the population is known to suffer from generalized anxiety disorders. It attacks both genders and usually characterized by extended periods of anxiety that are unrelated to any situation or object. An individual with obsessive compulsive disorder will have compulsion when dealing with given types of behavior. People who suffer from this disorder will see the need to do something obsessively in order to reduce their anxiety.

 

A number of people who suffer from this disorder require being extremely clean and tend to be germ phobic. They keep washing their hands all through to reduce the level of anxiety. Medications and therapy are the two proven methods that can be used to help those suffering from anxiety.
